Acers seem like a decent brand for laptops. I have one of their AspireOnes, but they are built much more cheaply than a normal notebook.

Turned out the TV had a card that got burned out by a lightning/electrical charge.  Its all back up and running now though, so life is back to normal.

JESUS!!!! WHERE WAS I WHEN THIS HAPPENED?!?!?!

I would have thrown a fundraiser up here to get my fellow Samsung owner/friend back on his feet!!!

I know Freak, I was actually quite suprised (with a mild bit of depression thrown in) that my TV compadre had no say in this traumatic experience.
