Indeed, I'm not a huge fan of Pearl Jam but I am a huge fan of that album.  Awesome music.  Day one purchase here too, I think the date it drops is March 24th.

Songs that should be out this week (Average White Band/EWF/James Brown is also available as a pack)

Average White Band "Pick Up the Pieces"

Earth Wind & Fire "Shining Star"

James Brown "Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine - Pt 1"

Against Me! "Thrash Unreal"

The New Pornographers "All the Things That Go to Make Heaven and Earth"

The New Pornographers "Use It"

Papa Roach "Last Resort"

Papa Roach "Lifeline"

--
I am in for Papa Roach "Last Resort", tempted at James Brown but will probably back down.  I hope the album of Ten gets here soon enough.

According to reports, Last Resort is not a master.  Download at your own risk.

What?  That would be weird....I'm sure Papa Roach is not that expensive.  Maybe its a re-recording thats a bit off.  I'll have to check it out.  I used to rock that album back when I was an angsty teenager, not much my thing anymore, but one of those songs that I'm sure will be a blast to play with a bunch of other drunk people that remember it.
I am for sure getting that Against Me song as well, one of the best tracks on that album and I was hoping for that and Bourne on the Waves when they originally released Stop, so I am pretty pumped.

Ten next week is going to be hella awesome though, I really am excited to pretend I am Pearl Jam.

Heck yah, I've karaoked to Last Resort at clubs more than a few times.  Too bad I was sober.   Grin  Anywho, it is supposed to be like you said a re-recording of some sort.  I don't quite understand it.  Let me know what you think, I take your decision on quality when it comes to RockBand to heart.  So if you think its crap, please let me know.

I watched the Youtube and it sounds like just the vocals are.....different.
I'll probably hop on and give it a download next week when I grab Ten, so I get all my Rock Band fixins' in one go.  I'll let you know what it sounds like in person if you haven't got it already.

Hrmmm.  I just went on Youtube as well.  It is different, but it isn't awful I would say.  Besides I am doing vocals most of the time, so I should be okay as it does follow the words fine and the little affected voice things are still in there.  I dunno, I'll probably end up getting it since i know the song so well.  But it is weird when you do the vocals better than the recording RB used.

The Ten album is awesome on RB.  Period.  Any fan of late 80's, early 90's rock should pick this up.  I guess there is some argument to getting the whole album, but there are too many gems in the non-hits for me to pick and choose.  I have found my favorites so far to be Once and Porch (for the vocals anyway).  One thing, Jeremy has the longest non-sensical ending I have ever seen but at least it is just like the album.   Grin

Yea, playing through it was great, and its sad that most people will probably just grab Jeremy, Black, and Even Flow when songs like Garden, Release, Why Go, and Porch are just as good.

I really hope Rock Band plans to follow Pearl Jam as they do their reissues of each of their albums up to the celebration of their 20th anniversary.  I would totally own the entire PJ discography if I could as their are too many songs to name that would be awesome fun.

Off Topic but On Topic:  I picked up the remaster and remix of Ten today.  There's a marked difference between the two, it's quite interesting.  Very enjoyable and worth the purchase.

Let's get this thread back on topic now:

Heh, I came pretty close to buying the remix/remaster deluxe package.  My old Ten cd has seen some better years.  The three special RB downloads didn't hurt either (if you buy it at BB), but something kept me from pulling the trigger.  On Cron's remark, Ten is the only PJ full album I would buy.  I might certainly buy singles, but I only buy full albums if I know the songs by heart.  Hence why I bought Ten and Dr. Feelgood.  I heard there might be some Journey coming next Tuesday.  That could be very interesting.

"Don't Stop Believing" was said to be coming at GDC.

I believe that they used the remastered Ten for Rock Band, as their were a couple things I noticed different.......the good thing is that they were just different, not bad.  Its sad that I know the album so well that when Eddie does a "ooh" just a bit different I notice it.  One reason I never can really get into live albums.
I can't wait until they release State of Love and Trust from the BB exclusive to everyone.  That song kicks ass.

Cron (or anybody else): Did you get any of the Alice Cooper songs, particularly the Live ones?  I've heard they aren't very good.  I'm interested in Billion Dollar Babies and School's Out.  I'm half tempted to just pick up Poison (which is my favorite Alice song out of the list anyway) since it is a studio track and call it a day.

Nah, I didn't pick up any of them.  I waiting on my next Rock Band drinking session and will buy a big backlog of songs.
Try out the Youtube videos.  Npean makes good guitar videos that are usually in HD quality.  Can probably get a good feel for the song quality there.

Not sure if I did NPean's...but I did do just that.  I ended up only picking up Poison and Vengance is Mine (which was kinda a surprise) as they were both masters and sounded really good.
