There was some discussion about this over in the Terminator movies thread, but I figured I'd start a new one.

So it officially aired last night and comes on tonight as well. I haven't watched it yet, but I will tonight. What does everyone think about it?

Will it be relevant enough to exist in the Terminator universe? Is it crap?

What say you?

I'm cautious at this point to rate it or call it a hit or failure. I watched half of last nights ep and wish I had seen the whole thing since some parts of the end seemed very interesting. I'm watching tonight and will post my thoughts later.

It's pretty lousy when you compare it to the movies. The script was bad, really bad. The dialogue, the plot, how the Terminators are written, etc. But I will watch it just because of what it is.

I watched both episodes last night. Overall, it's not bad but I still don't like the decision to void T3 with the time travel crap. Anyway, I will see where it goes. Yeah there are lame parts and dumb dialog but overall it does seem to tie into the first 2 movies pretty well so far and there are some cool things happening in the show from time to time.

And that chick is smokin' hot.

I like terminator, but I have almost zero interest for this show.
Unless after the season's done I hear good things about it, I won't make any attempt to see any of it.
If reviews are above average, then I'll make sure to rent it.

OK, so the second episode was a massive improvement. I actually like the show now. It was like it was written by somebody else, somebody who knew what they were doing. A few lame one-liners, but mostly it was solid. Another cool thing, (SPOILER):is they actually reference Terminator 3. Sarah actually brings up my complaint, of why they just didn't stay in 1999 so they'd have more time...Cameron tells her that she wouldn't have more time because she dies...and later we learn it is cancer that killed her. It adds an interesting dimension to the show. Cameron is also suddenly a more interesting character. From a funny scene where she imitates a wannabe gang-banger, to (SPOILER)a nice surprise when she executes a man because he might have been lying. This episode made me reverse my opinion of the show, I hope it's indicative of what's to come. Should be, since the pilot was probably shot way before the second episode, before the writers had their shit together, so that could be why it was so unwieldy.

I just hope they don't go for the villain of the week crap and actually string together some good plots and mysteries along the lines of Lost or at least Alias.

Which, the mom or Summer Glau?  I think the Mom is hot, Summer seems... I don't want to sound mean... but mentally challenged.

I meant the Summer Glau chick... but the mom is pretty hot too. Reminds me of Naomi Watts.

Yeah, I am hoping for some actual arcs and stuff as well. The thing with Cromartie is kind of interesting, though. Although I don't get how he was able to find his head like that...unless his body has some kind of sensor apparatus...?

So the monkey president of ours pre-empted last Monday's episode... was it set to air that night or have they just pushed it back a week?
