I would buy an HD-DVD player just to buy Planet Earth for $24. Some of the best visuals I've seen on TV.

Got 4 dvds from Fry's $4.99 sale

Showgirls VIP Edition (yes I like this movie, I'm a sucker for PV movies though)
Princess Bride: Dread Edition (2-disc) (for the g/f and me too)
Magnificent Seven (2-disc) (the only other western I own is Tombstone & Blazing Saddles,  so this is a risky title for me to buy, but I figured if I hate it, give it to my dad who loves westerns)
Dressed to Kill SE (Michael Caine movie, looked interesting)

I also picked up the Showgirls VIP edition on the cheap.  Pretty hard to resist.  The shot glasses alone were worth the cost.

Fell into the cheap-ass movies trap again. A buck for three movies, Nicole Kidman, Anothny Hopkins and Peter Weller starring. I figured for a buck, if it sucks...big whoop, and I get a DVD case out of it. It sucks. The titles are 4x3 (one with a bad reverse matte, the other terribly cropped anamorphic, I think...not sure what the third is...it looked ok) which I could live with...but look sourced from a 2nd gen VHS, and filled with more compression artifacts than pretty much everything I have seen save for a 5-pass dvd shrink experiment I once did. But the real noteworthy thing: A 3-minute, unskippable country video that is the biggest piece of Jingoistic (ok, I am being a bit hyperbolic here) propaganda ever. It gives you a myspace URL after it plays...

Anyway, the case will come in handy.

Sometimes the bargain bin can be a haven of rare gems, but it is mostly just freshly wrapped cases waiting to be reused.

Circuit City has a bunch fo sales, so I picked up:

$19.99 - Scrubs: Season One
$12.99 - Arrested Development: Season 3 (Now I need 1 and 2)
$03.99 - The Punisher: Extended Edition

Also got this DXG-589V camcorder device. It's cheap, the pics and videos are really low quality...but the thing has a decent mic with audio-only recording, it has a built-in 20-game system (like cellphone games), plays MP3s and probably xvids, and it compact enough to probably be a 'carry wherever you go' device. Providing it doesn't stop working and the battery holds a charge, the 47 dollars I paid for it will be a decent deal. Time will tell.

Picked up the Zodiac Director's Cut at WM for 5 bucks. Must have been a mix up, they had a bunch of the 1-disc and a lone DC, but it rang up 5 bucks so it's MINE!

Hrmmm, I did find a copy of Stacked: The Complete Series for under $10.  Also got Charmed Season 3 for about $15.  That's about all I can remember for recent.

DeepDiscountDVD was having a truckload of sales...so I did a couple of orders:

1st order:
Alien Quadrilogy $21.88 (I couldn't resist anymore)
Day Watch $7.00
Night Watch $5.00
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season 5 $15.11
Spectacular Spiderman Volume 1 $14.72 (I already own 2-4)
TMNT & Spiderman were B1 / G1 free, so that $14.72 is outta here
1st order total: $48.99

2nd order

3 for $20 offer
Child's Play SE
High Anxiety (about the only Mel Brooks film I don't have)
Wizards
2nd order total: $20.00

I don't usually spend $70 on dvd...but with as many as I got....geeeeeez.  Plus half of them are out of stock, so I'll get billed over time.  Lots of great stuff.

Damned WM 3-dollar DVDs!!!

Year of the Dog
There Will Be Blood (1-disc)
Hot Rod
48 Hours
Windtalkers: Director's Cut (1-disc)
The Weatherman
The Last Kiss

and
Stargate Atlantis: Season 5 (NOT 3 bucks, sadly...hah!)

The Shelf of Shame (the blue box are the Blu-rays, I've only not watched about 1/4 of those):

(the Shelf of Shame is the huge-ass stack of DVDs that I have purchased, but never watched. Most I have seen the movie before...on VHS, in the theater, on TV, rented on DVD, etc. The point is, since purchasing...I have not watched them. Certain titles on the SoS have been in the pile for a matter of years, I think. Once I watch a movie, it gets cycled into my other room, where I stock my other DVDs Oh, the other half are movies I bought to watch, at low-low prices. Like Killing Me Softly, The End of Violence, etc...they were 3 bucks)
