Cron, I have the 360 add-on, and I'm right there with you. I even watch standard DVDs through the external drive, to keep the use of my internal drive down a little (not to mention the upconverting). Plus, I agree, it is nice to be able to keep a game in the player while I am watching a movie.

At essentially $40, I'd say its a no-brainer move. Good for you!

Well , I can't find that bitch anywhere no moes.

As for HD DVDs, I notice most of the benefit on large environment shots.  Granted my TV isnt the best nor very big, and I have the add-on, but take Serenity for instance....talking scenes look clean, but nothing spectacular....but in large space shots with ships around and further away, its pretty awesome how clear all the details are.  I can't wait to get a better TV and experience it on that.

You don't realize how much you love something until its gone.

This sums up pretty well my feeling when I pop in a SD DVD from Netflix now.

I am having this weird thing where for some reason I prefer SD-DVDs. I prefer the look of them upscaled to that of my cable HD and stuff. I don't know why, I can't explain it...but I hope this feeling sticks around, because I am not getting the urge to spend all of my money on upgrading.

For those who have Fry's....the 360 HD add-on is priced brand new at $40 and tons of discs all over the display at $10-$12.  So freaking tempting I tell ya.

Dead technology.  I'm famous for buying it.  A lot of my consoles were bought when they got clearanced like that.  Panasonic 3do, check.  Sega Saturn, check.  Sega Master System, check.  They go dead and suddenly I want them.  So I end up with a closet and then some full.  I dunno, I guess I just don't want more stuff.  I mean the HD-DVD is essentially the laserdisc,  and I came pretty close to getting those when they went out of style too.  I guess I just can't pull the trigger this time.

Dead technology, sure.  But it's got a TON of movies on the cheap that run in 1080!  I don't see the issue.  So there won't be any more releases, who cares?!?!  Get as many of the cheap movies as you can before they come out on BD for twice the price!!!  I don't see the issue here, if I had a 360 I'd FULLY be on this.
