come on becks, you watch crap recorded movies downloads, and you're saying that's bs? BTW netflix is just giving an option of watching online at no extra charge, while you still get the discs through mail... I don't get what the big deal is.

I'm not sure if I'll ever buy into this online rental thing. Especially now that I'm only interested in High Def material, the wait time would way too long to download over my standard DSL connection, and the compression would probably detract from getting the sharpest image. I wouldn't watch anything on my computer, but I do find the Xbox live marketplace options interesting. They had Poseidon avaiable in HD before it was released on disc. If they could obtain some more exclusive titles.....say, Matrix, LOTR, Harry Potter before their respective release dates, then I'd maybe bite the bullet and give one a try.

Seems they have changed their plan once again. I exchanged my mailed movies for in-store ones and the in-store ones are showing up as my three 'at home' movies. The bastards are not shipping out my discs of DS9. I want those discs. I want them right now. I don't think I can get them to ship until I return these frakking movies. This is egregious!

This service just got crappier. At this point, they really aren't all that better than Netflix now.

And to think, I am still going to the actual stores and renting movies. Role Models was completely out, so I guess there are still a lot of people like me doing the same thing. What's an interwebs?

I've never done Netflix or any online video service, actually I haven't been in a video rental place in a couple of years.  I still just buy new and used dvds and then once I am done with them, trade them out or sell them on Ebay.  Which reminds me, there is a huge pile in my game room of stuff I need to put up on Ebay or post here.

Ok good, usually it's cheaper to buy if you're going to watch the disc twice or more...and I'm a nerd for re-watching things.

No nerdness involved. Americans like doing things the hard way, gives them something to bitch about later on.

Well I'm the lazy American.  Never leaves the house except for work, so Netflix is great!

Uhhh, buying something...losing, I am guessing 5-10 dollars per disc, having to put them online, having to package and ship them...and online services are 'the hard way'?

BBOnline is about 22 dollars a month, and you can return the DVDs to the store, even drop them in the drop-off bin.
