Battlestar Season 4.5 arrived today. Loaded the discs to see how long the Extended episodes were, and to size up the transfer. On my 34" some things looked a little 'off', I decided they were compression artifacts (considering how much they are jamming on the discs, it makes sense). Although I freeze-framed on a few whip-pans and didn't see the kind of blocky demons I am used to on DVD-TV, so it may be compressed, but it's still better than DVD compression artifacts. We'll see how it looks if I ever get that 55" Vizio.

For those wondering how extended the episodes are...one was 53 minutes, I think...another like 66, and Daybreak was 156 minutes, I believe. So they are each extended about 15-20 minutes, something like that. Not bad, considering the Atlantis Extended Episodes were 2 and 3 minutes longer.

Hey Guys,
I hope you won't mind me breaking in here just to plead for your help.
Every time you buy something at Amazon, if you would get there through one of our links, it will help to keep both this forum and Upcomingdiscs up and running.
We're spending money to make these digs better all of the time.
Using Amazon through us really help to pay those bills.
It's easy. Just use any of our cover art review links to get to Amazon.
It doesn't matter that the title isn't what you want.
Once there any shopping you do before you leave will be credited to us and help us keep going.
Thanks for your time.

I always try to use our links or create one of my own thru the deals thread  Grin for Amazon, it certainly does help.

Let's see....I've bought a ton of BD's the last week or two since the forum has been down.

From Toys R Us (Buy 1, get 1 half off)
Race to Witch Mountain (had $10 coupon, but this counted as the most expensive)
Wall-E (2-disc)

From Wherehouse.com (Used 25% off and Free shipping sale)
Ghost Rider
Stir of Echoes
Prestige
Doctor Strange

From Amazon.com (shipped)
The Third Man
The Mask
Zack and Miri make a Porno
Blow

mebee I need to cut down.   Tongue

Dexter: Season One. Watched a few scenes on the 3rd disc, couldn't see any compression artifacting going on. The DVD is rubbish in that department, so I am glad to be rid of it now.

Almost bought The Rock tonight, but I am trying to go strong on the "Don't buy BDs of things that you have on DVD" thing.

My fiancee wants me to do the same thing...unfortunately I don't seem to be paying attention much  Grin (Seriously, I'm only rebuying stuff I really really liked, but perhaps I am doing it a bit much)

There are exceptions, such as: 'It was only 10 bucks', and 'It's one of my top 50 movies ever!' and whatnot.
