It's the same as the market for LCD vs DLP... DLP is better in so many ways, but because the mainstream was sold on LCD, DLP vanished.

Same with 7.1 audio, nobody is pushing it, so nobody is buying it. And studios aren't going to produce 7.1 audio for the few hundred thousand (possibly millions) that have adopted it.

Well, after 3 years of this movie sitting in purgatory, I finally watched it on PPV last night.

It was all I expected it to be. A great Halloween themed movie with tons of atmosphere and creepiness. I really hope they make a couple sequels to this.

***1/2 (out of ****)

Frakking Michael Bay just can't stop himself from putting his mental retardation on screen anymore. Skids and Mudflaps, as well as shit as mind-numbingly painful as that...ruined the movie for me.

Pride and Glory - pretty tame corrupt cop stuff. I thought Norton and Farrell would have more fireworks but...nothing. ** (out of ****)

Couldn't agree more.

That might explain why no review copies were given out for the disc.
I was disappointed not to get one, but from the sounds of it the film was pretty lame.
That's why it was never covered in Upcomingdiscs.
Paramount has been keeping review discs back lately.
I hope we'll have the Trek disc in November to review for you guys.

Is the whole movie IMAX in 1.78?

I can confirm the normal 2 Disc version is all 2.35 and worth the purchase. Was the Walmart exclusive version the only one with the IMAX footage?

Picture and sound were perfect and it's even more of a sub workout than the first film.

Yes, the Walmart "Big Screen" DVD...

DVD or Blu-ray?

I saw a list the other day and there were maybe 30 titles on it. Most of the movies were odd choices for 7.1.

How was Transformers 2 not in 7.1?

I am all set up for 7.1 and the options out there are limited thus far. What gives?

Transformers 2. It was also the first movie I ever watched on my new BR player.

Aesthetically, the movie was perfect. Great visuals and sound. Could've used more lows during some action sequences even though the lows were awesome in the music and with off-screen noises.
