Yes. I thought the visuals were groundbreaking, but the story was old news. This is a must see in 3D... best 3D I've seen in a theater to date.

I never responded to this thread. I did by a new Yamaha receiver, 7.1...can't remember which model number. Anyway, I love it... and I need to post some pictures of my new sweet-ass set-up.

I love my Yamaha and have been extremely pleased with its performance to date.

How about Parcy "Cheech" Harvin for Rookie Of The Year?

Agreed.

It's the same as the market for LCD vs DLP... DLP is better in so many ways, but because the mainstream was sold on LCD, DLP vanished.

Same with 7.1 audio, nobody is pushing it, so nobody is buying it. And studios aren't going to produce 7.1 audio for the few hundred thousand (possibly millions) that have adopted it.

Pride and Glory - pretty tame corrupt cop stuff. I thought Norton and Farrell would have more fireworks but...nothing. ** (out of ****)

Couldn't agree more.

Is the whole movie IMAX in 1.78?

I can confirm the normal 2 Disc version is all 2.35 and worth the purchase. Was the Walmart exclusive version the only one with the IMAX footage?

Picture and sound were perfect and it's even more of a sub workout than the first film.

Yes, the Walmart "Big Screen" DVD...

DVD or Blu-ray?

Should I pick this up on BR? I am sure it looks and sounds amazing but I heard the movie is God-awful.

I think there's enough reference material on the BR to warrant a purchase. Reviews have it in and around perfection for sound and picture quality.

Now that I have a laptop, my shitter experience has increased tenfold.

If I had a laptop, I'd never come out of the bathroom.  Wink

Darn you darth, I came here to post the same thing.

What say you, Freak, how is Gladiator's visual fidelity?

Braveheart is the clear winner between the two, but Gladiator isn't a total mess. There is still a decent upgrade from previous DVD releases, but Braveheart does make it look second rate... but I would almost consider Braveheart reference... almost.

Every purchase can be justified if you really want to.  Smiley

I'm living proof of that!  Grin

Call me a critic, I loved District 9. Saw it twice in theaters. Gave it a 9/10, A-. Best movie of the summer, by far. Even better than Star Trek.

I liked it more than Star Trek as well. It just had more heart and grit. And no lens flares!!  Wink
