Hah, the title says 'Steamy Awards', I thought it was some porn-related thing! :p

I've seen it twice now and still want to see it again.

Inception was awesome.
4  UpcomingDiscs.com / Blu-ray Discussion / How long until those annoying BD problems go away? on: Apr 01, 2010, 12:13:30 AM
Long-ass boot times and BD-J disallowing you to resume a title after powering off your player. Two things that make DVD look more advanced and user-friendly than BD. Pisses me off, too. Sure, you can use boomarks to save your spot, but you still have to reboot the disc, watch all 10 minutes of unskippable warning screens, and navigate the often shitty menus (I am talking to you, Universal! The Office BDs have ass menus, while the DVDs are user-friendly, simple, quick and elegant!)

Dragon Dynasty's release of The Killer is probably the worst DNR I have ever seen. I have only seen pics (on DVDBeaver), but there is less fine detail on the 1080p screencaps they have posted than on the screencaps they have for the Winstar non-anamorphic DVD release. Yikes. Just yikes.

I remain to be mostly happy with the TV. Other than the red flashing and black crush, which I have since learned to live with. My friend came over and watched Fargo in 1080p...a month later, he bought the same exact model TV. Only he went for the 400-disc BD player.

I liked the 3D, and think it's moderately revolutionary...but I did not like the movie all that much. Just a badly written, sappy movie...with mediocre production design, boring, recycled music, and a boring lead.

Not as great as Russian Mail-Order Brides, right?
9  UpcomingDiscs.com / DVD Discussion / Adult Swim creates first User-Designed DVD! on: Nov 16, 2009, 05:04:22 PM

Seems interesting. Interface isn't working for me, though. It is launch day, so maybe there are some bugs to be worked out, overloaded servers, whatever.

40% this time. HOTSTUFF, although it's not working in my cart for some reason. Maybe I should send them a letterbomb--I mean an email.

Or wait...maybe the 40% off is without the promo code...which sucks. But then why is there a promo code? Where did I even get the code? The hell?

I should have read the fine print. Hah. What a rip-off. OK, so basically...no, they aren't having a sale. The 40% is reflected in the price you see before you add the item to your cart. Some stuff is a bit on the cheap side, but not by much. Man, this place is going downhill. Damn.

Oh, well. I will put that money into my black friday account, I guess, And by 'account'. I mean I will just spend whatever I Goddamn feel like on black friday.

Yeah, Best Buy had all of TWO DLPs when I went in there TV shopping some months ago. Both looks like total shit. Like...RPTV bad. Couldn't have just been calibration, though...I mean, it looked like there was something WRONG with them.

Frakking Michael Bay just can't stop himself from putting his mental retardation on screen anymore. Skids and Mudflaps, as well as shit as mind-numbingly painful as that...ruined the movie for me.

Is the whole movie IMAX in 1.78?
